Virtual Elective Fair

AVID is a program that has prepares students for four-year college eligibility.  Students learn organizational and higher-order thinking skills based on rigorous standards. Intro to Band
6th & 7th Grade

If you are a student who wants to start their musical journey by learning to play a band or string instrument, then this is the class for you!  No previous experience necessary.

In this class you will learn and develop skills to become a well-rounded musician.  You will also learn to play a band instruments like: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, or Trombone, or string instruments like the Violin.

 

Advanced Band
7th & 8th Grade

Advanced band is open to anyone who has at least one year of experience playing a wind-band instrument (Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, etc.). In this class you will continue to develop your skills as a musician and as a performer, playing an exciting wide variety of music!  Students wishing to change to a new instrument may have the opportunity to do so.  If this all sounds good, then this is the class for you!

 

Guitar
7th & 8th Grade

Guitar is a new class to Art Freiler School for next year.  In this class, students will learn to tune, pick, and strum their guitar.  Later in the year students may play other string instruments like the bass or ukelele.  If you are a student who would like to learn to play the guitar and perform in the first ever Freiler Guitar Concert, then this is the class for you!

 

In STEAM classes students deeply explore technology, math, science, engineering, and even art!  Students will solve puzzles, design solutions, build models, and truly learn to PERSEVERE!  Students in Advanced Science & Engineering also compete against other schools in a Science Olympiad tournament, with the chance to advance to state and national competition!  To learn more about Science Olympiad visit norcalscienceolympiad.com.

Leadership
7th & 8th Grade

Leadership is the class with the biggest influence on school spirit!  The leadership class plans spirit weeks, lunch time activities, dances, and more!  Most importantly, students in Leadership promote inclusiveness and respect at all times through their actions and choices on campus.  This class requires a completed Leadership Application and participation in all after school events.

Teacher's Assistant
7th & 8th Grade

Teacher's Assistants have the chance to give back to teachers who have had an influence on them!  TA's help lead small groups, organize work, create bulletin boards, and many other things to make sure that the classroom they serve is welcoming and well organized!  This elective requires an application.

Elective Rotation
7th & 8th Grade

Have you viewed all these videos, but are still having trouble choosing the elective that is right for you?  In our elective rotation you can take a new class each trimester, learning from different teachers in a variety of fun activities.  The elective rotation includes STEM, Personal Finance, and Coding!

 

English Language Development (ELD) is a class where students work on improving both academic and everyday English language skills. Students receive intensive language instruction to prepare for success in mainstream courses.  Students who come to class with a great attitude and a willingness to participate are on track for success!
